Utilizing Media Print E-mail

There are two distinct tracks of publicity.

  1. The Christian community.
  2. The community as a whole.

It’s critical that the kind of promotional material used targets the right audience. As an example, our publicity material that targets the community at large has less “Christianese” language, and attempts to be relevant to lost people. On the other hand, our Christian publicity is directed to God’s people, and will be more “believer friendly” in content. Please make sure when sending news releases, etc., the appropriate ones are used.

The Christian Community

The first track of publicity is to raise awareness within the Christian community. Our Christian-targeted publicity needs to accomplish a variety of challenges.

Christians are targeted in the following ways:

  • Become aware of the ministry of On Eagles’ Wings
  • Be challenged to pray
  • Be challenged to pray specifically for one lost friend
  • Be challenged to be involved in the follow-up of new believers
  • Be challenged to volunteer in any number of leadership roles in the OEW visit.

This comprehensive publicity strategy will target the Christian community through all area churches, perhaps Christian radio, and other ways of directly connecting with believers.

The Community At Large

A second track of publicity is to target the community at large with "seeker-friendly" publicity. This publicity will be completely free of our "Christianese," and will help generate and build excitement among the community.

On Eagles’ Wings will help equip you with promotional materials that you can use to help raise awareness within the community. This includes posters / flyers, radio spots, television promotion, newspaper articles, and more.

In the Preparing for an OEW Visit downloadable resources are a variety of news releases that can help promote the On Eagles’ Wings visit.

Christian Radio

On Eagles’ Wings is a ministry division of Ron Hutchcraft Ministries, Inc. Ron is a gifted preacher of the Gospel who is heard around the world on Christian radio and other networks such as the Armed Forces Radio Network. We believe strongly in utilizing local Christian radio to help promote and build prayer support for the On Eagles’ Wings visit. To learn more about our media ministries please go to www.hutchcraft.com.

While the team is in your area, we are available to visit a local Christian radio station for live or taped interviews of the team and leaders. This can also include local Christian leaders who are helping us on the planning committee.

Here are steps we would suggest to help maximize Christian radio promotion:

  1. Identify the local Christian radio stations with coverage in your area.
  2. Contact the station manager to see if they carry any of Ron Hutchcraft’s radio programs and ask if they are aware of the On Eagles’ Wings team coming to the area.
  3. Ask if they would want to schedule an interview with select team members and leaders while in the area (preferably during the morning hours).
  4. Confirm dates and times and communicate those events to the On Eagles’ Wings leadership.
  5. See if they would be willing to play our pre-recorded PSA’s (public service announcements), as we near the dates we will be in the area. Most times this will require that the station "tag" the end of the spots with the time, date, and location information of where the team will be.

Local and Tribal Newspapers

The Preparing for an OEW Visit Downloadable Resources contains a “seeker friendly” news release that can be e-mailed or printed out and delivered to a local or tribal newspaper that introduces the On Eagles’ Wings team and announces the upcoming events and dates. We have also included a color photo of the team, should they want photos. Please utilize this service as a means to get the word out to people who may not know of the events otherwise.

Local Network Television Affiliates

There may be interest in local television stations in covering an On Eagles’ Wings outreach event. A copy of the news release should be sent to any local television news departments with a local phone contact included so they can get further information from local planning leaders. It not only promotes On Eagles’ Wings but often is good promotion for local Native ministries and leaders as well.
